Amazon Select® recycled content paint is available in 12 pre-mixed colors, is environmentally preferable to virgin paints, and carries both Green Seal and Master Painters Institute certification. Leftover paint that can’t be used is manufactured into an alternative raw material used in the production of cement or into other products. Using these processes, Amazon is able to beneficially reuse virtually 100% of the leftover paint received.
MetroPaint
Metro, an elected regional government, helps make the Portland, Ore., metropolitan area an extraordinary place to live, work and play. Since 1992, Metro has recycled more than 1 million gallons of latex paint, helping the environment and keeping reusable resources out of the landfill. Each year, the agency collects more than 5 million pounds of household hazardous waste, with about 61 percent of it latex and oil-based paint. Metro transforms quality leftover latex into 100 percent recycled MetroPaint, an award-winning, Green Seal™ certified product good toward Earth Advantage® and LEED® credits. For every gallon of MetroPaint used instead of new paint, about 100 kilowatt hours of energy is saved and an estimated 115 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions are prevented.
