On July 1, 2025, PaintCare submitted a program plan for the Maryland paint stewardship program.
As part of the program plan, PaintCare proposed the following fee structure, subject to approval by the Maryland Department of the Environment. The proposed fee structure is based on container size as follows:

| Half pint or smaller | $0.00 |
| Larger than half pint up to smaller than 1 gallon | $0.50 |
| 1–2 gallons | $1.15 |
| Larger than 2 gallons up to 5 gallons | $2.25 |
The target start date for the Maryland paint stewardship program is April 1, 2026, however, approval of the program plan and fee structure by the state oversight agency are necessary before the program can begin.
