Staten Island Door to Door Pickup Service
Do you have more than ten gallons of paint to recycle? For a limited time, PaintCare is offering a direct pickup service for households on Staten Island that have leftover paint, stain, and varnish. There is no charge for this service, the cost is covered by the PaintCare fee on sales of new paint in New York.
To schedule a Door to Door Paint Pickup:
- Residents must call (800) 507-4200 to see it they qualify and submit a service request.
- PaintCare’s transporter, GreenSheen, will determine eligibility and schedule a date and time for the pickup.
On the day of service, residents must:
- Be home during the scheduled date and time
- Stage the items near their home, either on the front porch or driveway, to allow GreenSheen to collect the materials. The transporter will not enter any structure on the property to retrieve items for collection.
Products and Quantities
Households may request a pickup for paint, stain, and varnish. This service is recommended for those with 10 or more gallons. Paint must be in sealed, original container with original manufacturer label. View a full list of accepted products at paintcare.org/products
PaintCare Products
- House paint and primers (latex or oil-based)
- Stains
- Deck and concrete sealers
- Clear finishes (e.g., varnishes, shellac)
Non- PaintCare Products
- No leaking, unlabeled or empty containers
- No aerosol coatings
- No drums or containers larger than 5 gallons
- We cannot accept other hazardous waste or chemicals, such as paint thinner, solvents, motor oil, spackle, glue, adhesive, roofing tar, pesticides, cleaning chemicals
