Free Paint, Textiles, and E-Waste Recycling Drop-off Event
Leftover Paint
Households may drop off any amount of latex or oil-based paint.
Accepted
Paint must be in sealed, original container with original manufacturer label. This event is for the following products only:
- House paint and primers (latex or oil-based)
- Stains
- Deck and concrete sealers
- Clear finishes (e.g., varnishes, shellac)
Not Accepted
- No leaking, unlabeled, or empty containers
- No aerosol coatings
- No drums or containers larger than 5 gallons
- We cannot accept other hazardous waste or chemicals, such as paint thinner, solvents, motor oil, spackle, glue, adhesive, roofing tar, pesticides, cleaning chemicals
E-Waste
The LES Ecology Center in partnership with elected officials and community groups hosts free Community Recycling Events to accept unwanted electronics and other materials. The following working and nonworking electronic equipment will be accepted. Visit www.lesecologycenter.org/community-recycling-events-list for more information.
Accepted
- Computers (laptops and desktops, servers, mainframes)
- Monitors (CRT and flat-screen)
- Handheld devices (smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, e-readers, etc.)
- Network devices (routers, hubs, modems, etc.)
- Peripherals (keyboards, mice, cables, cords, chargers, etc.)
- Components (hard drives, CD-ROMs, circuit boards, power supplies, etc.)
- Printers, scanners, fax machines
- TVs, VCRs, DVRs, DVD and Blu-ray players
- Digital converter boxes, cable/satellite receivers
- Video game consoles and accessories
- Cell phones, pagers, PDAs
- Audiovisual equipment (cameras, microphones, stereo equipment, etc.)
Not Accepted
- Batteries, except lead-acid batteries from uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems
- Media such as discs, DVDs, VHS tapes, and cassette tapes
- Household appliances, including air conditioners and microwaves
- Smoke detectors
- Humidifiers and dehumidifiers
Textiles
The following textiles will be accepted. Items must be clean and dry.
Accepted
- Accessories (shoes, hats, bags, gloves)
- Clean rags
- Clothing
- Household textiles (towels, curtains, bedding)
- Ripped and damaged material
