This Message Covers Additional Reporting Requirements for Manufacturers Registered in California Only
Recent changes to the California paint stewardship law require PaintCare to submit additional information for manufacturers to CalRecycle, the state oversight agency. To comply with these new requirements, manufacturers must log into their account at www.paintcarereporting.org and take the following actions:
1. Update company contact information to include the name, title, email address, and phone number of the business principal. Also, provide a physical, mailing, and corporate address, as well as the company website address.
2. Designate the business principal as the contact for the government agency.
3. Review each brand registered with PaintCare and indicate if the manufacturer and brand relationship is confidential (a private label agreement, tolling relationship, or other proprietary business practice exists) or public.
The new requirements may necessitate a level of coordination within a company that was not previously required. Please review the step-by-step instructions and update your account as soon as possible to ensure timely coordination of responses. Please complete these required actions no later than September 30, 2025.
